Boston Plein Air Artist Group
The Boston Plein Air Artist Group (BPAAG) was founded to bridge the gap between artists who paint solo and large classes.
Outings are kept small, typically 4–6 artists. While the group is informal and flexible its structure is formal and
can be found hosted under the web-hosting service Meetup.com,
which hosts special interest groups like ours.
Membership is free and open to all. Once a member you will be privy to our calendar, where you can RSVP for those outings of
interest. Regular outings include:
- PLEIN AIR Afternoon outings on each weekend to an area within easy driving distance of Boston.
- SKETCH-CRAWLS. The group moves from site to site, by car, spending some time at each sketching.
- BICYCLE-SKETCH-CRAWLS. Same as a sketch crawl, but we do it on a bicycle.
- TRAVEL Every two months a New England trip requiring typically an overnight at a local motel, inn, or campground.
- PHOTO-SHOOTS. Much like a PLEIN AIR event but usually shorter and arranged to be when the light is ideal for photography.
- HIKING. The group will take a short hike to secluded spots and sketch.
Full details can be found at Meetup.com, where you can register with no obligation
if you are interested.
