Dear Friends,
Artists face distinct challenges to survive in our economy and must rely on a variety of professional tools to succeed. The Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts of Massachusetts (VLA) offers a training program that will put new tools in your hands to help launch, sustain, or grow your career as an individual artist. “Artist's Professional Toolbox” is designed to empower emerging and practicing artists to succeed in the business of art.
The VLA is now accepting applications for the 2006-2007 training program. Successful applicants will work on the vital skills of career planning, marketing, and financial/legal issues. Over the course of 8 months, including an initial day and a half long retreat, artists learn and practice a host of career-enhancing skills.
The application deadline for this year is September 15.
For more information about the program and an application form, please visit the VLA website www.vlama.org and click on the “Artist's Professional Toolbox” link.
Improving your business skills will enhance your creative work.
