The Winchester Historical Society seeks funds to purchase a conservation mannequin to start an ongoing program to display costumes and textiles from its collections. The mannequin will be displayed at the Sanborn House Historical and Cultural Center. Its first viewing will be accompanied by two programs open to the public: an illustrated lecture on the history of costumes; and a workshop on how to handle and care for textiles. The mannequin will become part of an ongoing program to share collections with the public, especially third graders as part of their local history curriculum.
