A permanent outdoor sculpture will be placed at the front of the Lynch Elermentary School by Winchester artist Madeleine Lord. The sculpture will be 2 ft wide by 3 ft tall by 15 ft long. The work will be based on 63 drawings by fifth graders who are participating in a "Buddy Program" which models how to welcome newcomers of diverse backgrounds and abilities. In December, art teacher, Anna Sea will develop a lesson to develop those drawings; in January, the artist will design and create the artwork. The sculpture will be made from 1/4" new steel, and will be polished and painted with the assistance of volunteers. Educational presentations will be created wto show all phases of the project.
