Mixed Media

Visual/spatal art including painting and physical structures

Linda Forsythe

I’m a relational/multi-media artist and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist based in Winchester. Much of my work leans conceptual—heavy, provocative, unafraid of difficult territory—but for this show, I’ve chosen to linger somewhere lighter: exploded rubber tire fragments found by the side of the road, chosen because they still had something to say.

Artistic field description
Mixed media (acrylic, found metal object, nylon mesh on canvas)

After retiring from the biomedical field in 2009, Juily began exploring painting and collage through studies at the Carrboro Arts Center and Raleigh Contemporary Art School, North Carolina.  She later joined the Visual Art Exchange and participated in exhibitions and juried shows. Her recent work focuses on acrylic-painted rice paper collages inspired by gardens, imagination, and memories of life’s small joys.

Juily says, “Art has brought new color, creativity, and connection to my retirement years.”
